Karen Seward serves as the President of Cira Health Solutions, spearheading the company’s growth and services providing a critical tool in decision-making for the insurance, legal and employer communities.

An accomplished executive leader with over 15 years of experience in health solutions, Karen brings a unique business perspective and clinical acumen to her role consulting on current trends and changes in the Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) marketplace and regulatory environment. Most recently, Karen has been a never-ending advocate to evolve the way in which medical evaluation service providers do business. Her recommendations have forced change in the sector with Cira Health Solutions completing its five-year plan to implement modern processes and new technologies that support collaborative service models designed to deliver the best in patient care. The desired end state is when best practices are applied by all service providers, and this model of patient-centric care evolves.

Under Karen’s leadership, Cira Health Solutions was re-accreditation and recognized for its innovation in 2017, by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International. This globally respected, independent accreditor of health and human service organizations, measures quality, processes, and client value in service outcomes.

As a genuine innovator in the field of workplace mental health and a long time and essential supporter of ongoing research, education, and awareness, Karen is a sought-after speaker at conferences on topics related to mental health and resiliency. She has authored white papers on mental health and chronic pain, and advocates for mental health solutions frequently taking her message to the media on daytime and news radio and television.

Prior positions include Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Morneau Shepell, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Shepell.fgi, and Vice President of Business Development at The Forum Corporation. In these positions, Karen led and implemented high-growth strategies, significantly increasing company revenue and value and building a platform to drive future sector success.

Karen is a board member of the Mount Sinai Brain Foundation and the Ontario Shores Foundation. Karen holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Toronto.
